The Stitch & Bitch will meet-up on Friday, July 29th, 1-3 p.m. @ Panera.
Summer in full swing and some ladies are away or busy with Summer activities. I get asked each week, “are we meeting”? With a group as large as ours someone is usually around to stitch. I usually arrive early to claim our back table. If you arrive earlier (or I’m not there) just do the same.
The Stitch & Bitch will meet-up at our Panera, this Friday, 6/10, 1-3 pm.
Ladies, as a group we celebrate the best of times and rally around during challenging and difficult times. I’m writing, with permission from our dear Barb B. Over the past few weeks she has been dealing with a lot and coping with the nerve-wracking uncertainty involved with being diagnosed – in her case with Melanoma. It is early stage 1, the doctor said it is unlikely to have spread and they are taking every precaution. She is being treated at one of the best hospitals: Memorial Sloan Kettering. Surgery will be done early morning Thursday, 6/9. Please keep Barb, her doctors and her family in prayer.
Our 2014 Valentine’s Day project ladies!! Knitting & Crocheting Lap-ghan/Lap-robes for the Veterans at the Montrose VA Nursing Home.
While the idea of this project has simmered for a few weeks we’ve nailed down the details yesterday at the Stitch & Bitch – and everyone is anxious to get busy.
Thanks to Kathy for the wonderful idea to benefit the VA Nursing home in Montrose, and Susan came up with the cool name for our project. Lorraine’s evening knit group will be working on items too!
Panera has once again offered to help sponsor this project so we will have extra skeins of yarn to work with! Thank you Amy!! Some yarn will be available for you on Friday, 12/27. UPDATE: Yes, there are a number of ladies who will be available for a meet-up on Friday, 12/27 – same time and place – Panera.
For the Lap-ghans:
Use ANY worsted yarn – ANY pattern. NO WOOL. The finished project should measure 27″ Width x 44″ Length
See below as a guide (or use whatever works for you).
Knitting: Use #10 needles, cast on 88
Crocheting: Thanks for the suggested patterns but when I tried it the chain too lomg. I will try it myself using a K hook and add the details once I know it works.
Merry Christmas to all!
Irene made this gorgeous neck warmer and found the perfect model!
