“Pink Pussyhat” Pattern & videos

Here is the Knit pattern Cheryl shared for the hats.  As well, below are very good  ‘how to’ youtube videos which show how to do the 3 needle bind-off referenced on the pattern.

Make in any shade of Pink.

Pussy Hat Pattern

Materials: #4 worsted weight yarn

Size 7 circular needles

Size 7 straight needle

Using circular needles cast on 100 stitches, place marker and join in round, taking care to not twist stitches.

K2 P2 ribbing for 2 -3“. Continue in Stockinette Stitch until piece measures 8-9”.

Finish with a three needle bind off. Place 50 stitches on each of two needles. Bind off through stitches on both needles at same time using third needle.

Two great youtube videos:

How to Knit: The Pussy Hat Project and

Pussyhat: 3 Needle Bind Off

Both videos are by Joy Macdonell

Althernative to ribbing. Cast on 100 stitches as above. Knit in garter stitch for 2” (Knit one row, purl one row). Then continue in stockinette stitch (knit every row) until piece measures 8”. Finish with three needle bind off

One time Charity Project!

The Stitch & Bitch is joining the Welcome Blanket  Project making welcome blankets for refugees & immigrants. They’re accepting blankets until 11/5.

The goal is to stitch and assemble as many blankets as we can out of the 8×8″ squares. Each blanket will be 40″. The museum is offering free shipping Smart Museum of Art, in Chicago. The blankets are on display through December.

I’m calling on you to make exactly 8″x 8″ squares – use 4 ply Acrylic yarn (only). You may knit or crochet, using any pattern you like, any color.

We’ll have a “joining party” when we gather enough squares. Let’s do it, ladies!

Our trip to Lyndhurst

image

We had gorgeous weather for the Craft Fair today and enough breeze and shade for a wonderful afternoon outdoors.

It’s a large set up but not impossible to see everything in a day. There is enough seating throughout the field and large tables to spread out,
have lunch & do some knitting  & crochet and leisurely enjoy shopping the over 300 vendors.

A huge thank you to our carpool drivers, Kathy & Cheryl.

Just a sample of pics:
